Running Out of Time

The UVA Drama Department organizes and produces the annual New Works Festival, which comprises of plays written, directed, acted, and designed by UVA students under faculty mentorship.

Running Out of Time, written by third-year UVA Student Mary Logan Hall, is Hall’s first produced play. Initially written as a way to express her harbored feelings towards a complicated relationship, Running Out of Time has expanded into a play about the search for closure and the discovery of exactly when it’s time to move on from the people, places, and things that no longer serve you.

Special thanks to Doug Grissom for being my faculty mentor throughout the writing process, Dave Dalton for guiding Alexandra Figueroa Chacin through the directing process, Alex for bringing my words to the stage and doing my story justice, and Angel Lin and Cai Luzak for breathing life to my characters, making them into their own people with their own complex stories that hopefully everyone can relate to and sympathize with.
